No doubt I'm going to duplicate a bit with Ian as we were both on the same course sailing in the same place. Today was the first day and after a brief introduction along with outlining everybodys ambitions for the week we headed down to the beach for some tuning tips. Considering 5 of the course couldn't waterstart this was going to be a baptism of fire.

After a day of hints and tips plus the odd rescue of the fledgeling water starters I could relax and go out with the wave heads.

Rigged my 4.1 onto my brand new 370 Pacific RDM. Went out for a few runs to get used to port tack jumps again then came in to apply more down haul. Another run and I blew the outside gybe and got rolled by a wave. Surfaced to find the rig had gone floppy as the mast had broken below the boom. Resigned myself to the pounding all the way to the beach followed by the long walk back up wind. At least I've proved by example that Rhosneigr is a safe location if you suffer any kit failure.

A good day apart from the mast breakage. I'd advise anyone not to buy masts made in Slovenia, I'm upgrading to a Tush RDM as a warranty replacement.
